Keynote address at the Edinburgh Film Festival

Read the keynote address at the Edinburgh Film Festival by Lord Puttnam of Queensgate, CBE.

Lord Puttnam of Queensgate, CBE gave his keynote address on Sunday 21 June at 11am in the Filmhouse cinema, the heart of the Edinburgh International Film Festival.  He was introduced by Ginnie Atkinson, Managing Director of the festival. It was a packed house and Lord Puttnam's speech had delegates at the festival buzzing well into the night.  He talked about the future for film in a fully digital Britain and referenced much of the work of the UK Film Council in taking the film industry on that road as well as the responsibilities of filmmakers in not just in making films that people want to see but also their power to influence people and change our world.
