UK Film Council US
The UK Film Council US represents the UK Film Council's Office of the British Film Commissioner. Our aim is to encourage and support US feature films coming to the UK.
What we do:
The UK Film Council US works to maximise US film investment in the UK and to promote UK production infrastructure.
Our key priorities are to advise on:
- The UK tax credit and the criteria for qualifying as a British film;
- UK studios, facilities and crew;
- UK locations;
- UK production incentives and support available through the network of UK screen agencies.
Why shoot in the UK:
In an increasingly competitive global environment, a number of factors have helped make the UK a hugely attractive destination for internationally financed films:
- the stability of the UK Film Tax Relief;
- the advantageous exchange rate;
- the UK's unparalleled depth of crew and production infrastructure.
The US team is:
Andy Weltman, Senior Vice President US Production
Andy is responsible for building relationships with US filmmakers looking to film in the UK. He works with the US major studios, mini-majors and independents. He works with the Office of the British Film Commissioner in London to provide support and guidance to US productions considering the UK.
Tara Halloran, Senior Executive, Industry Relations
Tara's role is to support the remit of the Office of the British Film Commissioner in the US. Her priorities include client and industry relations and business development.
